CIAF ArtWalks + Artist  Join artists Elizabeth Palmisano or Rebecca Lipps and ArtWalksCLT for a guided Charlotte International Arts Festival ArtWalk in Uptown on Sunday, September 25 at 3:30 pm or Wednesday, September 28 at 5:30 pm.  Be a part of the CIAF celebration by exploring interactive installations created just for the arts festival.  Visit existing murals by Charlotte artists, go on a scavenger hunt for 100 Tiny Things, and hear about the creative process from amazing local artists.     This one-hour-and-15-minute artwalk begins at the Mint Museum Plaza located at 500 S. Tryon Street and ends at Romare Bearden Park.  This event is free, but sign-up is required.  Light rail access is from the Convention Center. Get your glow on! Lit by the light of MAN and hundreds of neon glowsticks, this unique outdoor yoga class brings a new twist to the traditional warrior pose. Glowsticks will be provided – please bring your own yoga mat.   About the instructor: Jasmine (Jaz) C. Hines (she/they), MSOD, 200hr E-RYT, YACEP, is a queer cultural organizer, connector, educator, and coach devoted to learning and self-actualization by studying and integrating practices from yoga. These practices affirm her connection and acceptance of her works on this earth. Her reliance and commitment to deep listening to spirit and being gifted with many earthly ancestors in training led her to write a proclamation to the City of Charlotte declaring December 4th Self Care Day in 2016. Have you ever wondered “What the heck is a tech rider and why should I care?”, “How does a sculpture get hung from the ceiling of a theater lobby?”, or “How exactly do you create a 30-foot diameter balloon with the face of a local legend printed on it?”. Ask The Artist Anything is an end-of-the-festival opportunity for local artists to learn from national and international artists and ask the questions most never get to ask! Glean behind-the-scenes information and learn how some artists make a living by touring and presenting their work around the world. This experience will include a panel of large-scale installation artists, performance artists, and educational, community-based artists - bring your notebook and specific questions!
