Dive into textile traditions with Springclean & Eva Crawford at the Charlotte International Arts Festival and Blume Studios! Gather under the big tent where every 30 minutes Eva will give a brief artist's talk about her giant Quilt Cube, and you create and take with you wrapping paper using upcycled fabrics inspired by Korean bojagi, West African appliqué, and Southern quilting — a craft rooted in storytelling and resilience, especially among African American communities in the U.S. South.
When coming out to Blume Studios, please bring your well worn, torn, or stained clothing to place in the Springclean donation box near the Quilt Cube.
