Event Details
“Moiré Movers” is an interactive installation that visitors can rotate to make a moving illusion. 7-foot tall posts patterned with images reflecting history, commerce, and culture of Charlotte.
Moiré (meaning “watered” in French) is a large-scale interference pattern that can be produced when an opaque slatted pattern with transparent gaps is overlaid on another similar pattern. This visual phenomenon can commonly occur in textiles like watered silk and when photographing screens, causing wavy lines or a rippled effect in a photo.
9 local artists with the 2024 Blumenthal Fellowship Program are showcasing incredible work at our various festival locations from Uptown to South Charlotte. The Fellowship Program is one of the many ways in which Blumenthal is committed to uplifting the local talent that is abundant in the Queen City.
