Café Amaretto is music performing group based in Charlotte, North Carolina playing smooth soulful Latin-American tunes along with American classics incorporating a unique fusion of Latin rhythms, jazz and blues. Their music goes from jazzy romantic boleros to swingy happy songs. The group was created in 2014 by Ana Lucía Divins (vocals), an award winning Colombian singer/teaching artist, who has been exploring the power of music beyond entertainment for years, engaging audiences of all ages, and Carlos Crespo (guitar), originally from Ecuador, who has led several musical projects exploring and gaining experience in a diverse range of music styles nationally and internationally.
Café Amaretto has been featured in several festivals, such us Charlotte SHOUT, the Latin American Festival and Boom Festival. Performed in venues such as: The Mint Museum, Theatre Charlotte, The Levine Museum of the New South and McColl Center, among others. The group was selected to create and perform a song for NC’s 2021 inauguration of Gov. Cooper and members of the Council of State and has been featured in a series of ASC Culture Blocks programs, some of the titles of these programs are: “Chill Latin Music”, “Feel it with Music”, “From Latin American Boleros to Jazz and Everything in Between”, “Traveling Blue, from Latin America to New Orleans” “Timeless Latin American Tunes” and “Uplifting Latin American Songs”
Their performance feels as if you are embarking on a bilingual musical journey through Latin-America featuring a range of smooth, uplifting and relaxing songs while exploring the diversity behind the genres, countries of origin and timeframe of the songs.
